"Built in 1888, Fire House No. 1 is a rectangular firehouse building with a broad, front-gabled roof that has elements of both Stick and Queen Anne styles of architecture. Elements of Stick architectural style are incorporated into the design of the building are the gabled roof, steeply pitched with side gable, overhanging boxed eaves, and wooden wall cladding interrupted by patterns of horizontal and vertical boards raised from wall surface for interest. Queen Anne elements include patterned shingles, asymmetric design elements, cutaway bay windows, decorative detailing, and decorative corbels along the cornice line, and corner brackets."
