This three-story red brick building is located at 6-8 N Main. The first floor consists of two identical storefronts. Each have a double woodframed glass door with large windows on either side. A single pane of glass is above each window and the double doors. A newer metal walkway crosses over Main Street to connect to Spring. This walkway forms a balcony for the second floor, Stairs are on both the east and west sides of the building. A central arched brick doorway with stone accents and keystone is the focus of this second story. Two arched one-over-one windows with the same stone accents and keystones flank the doorway. The third story has five one-over-one windows with stone sills and arched lintels with the stone keystone. There is a single window on each of the east and west sides of the building at the third story. "Basin Spring Bath House." has been painted in large block letters on the eastern facade at the third story.

Above the third story windows, the words "basin Water has made 90 percent of the cures of Eureka." are painted on the northern facade. A dentilated corbel is present with four decorative bracket spaced in the architrave. The rounded entablature reads: "Basin Springs Bath House" with a carved rosette and leaves.

Construction Year: 1889

From the Eureka Springs History:

"It (Basin Spring Bath House) was built in 1889 to replace a frame structure that had burned. A brick building 4 stories high was constructed with the first and second stories entered on Main Street and the third and fourth entered across a walk bridge to Spring Street over Main Street. It used Basin Spring water brought over Main Street in pipes that were tucked underneath the bridge. Main Street (Mud Street) was raised one level, and the second, third, and fourth stories became what we now know as the first, second and third.

On September 28,1986, the building caught fire and was entirely gutted - even the bridge was damaged. It was totally rebuilt within the walls to house two businesses on each floor and it reopened in 1987. Every effort was made to be technically and historically correct on the exterior of the building. The original quarry matched lintels and window sills and a surviving section of the railing was cast into a mold to replace damaged sections. Bricks were only painted because they were damaged or discolored in the fire."
