The memorial has a twisted steel beam from the World Trade Center. Below the beam is a plaque with the following inscription:

World Trade Center Beam

Once a part of the World Trade Center,
this twisted piece of steel is an enduring memorial
to the happenings on that fateful
September 11, 2001 morning
that have touched each of us.

We will never forget the dedication displayed,
the sacrifices made, and the innocence lost.

The people may be gone, the day may have passed,
but the memories of both
will forever be remembered here.
