This statue is on top of a granite monument in a very historic part of town which is becoming very industrial. The monument is about six feet tall with the statue going above that. There is a dedicated flagpole right next to it.

A plaque on the front of the monument itself states:

That the memory of the boys who gave their lives and their services in the defense of their country and to perpetuate its ideals shall live as an inspiration to courage and patriotism.
