This unique clock is mounted to the Municipal Plaza (formerly "Frost Bank") Building at 103 Main Plaza (the NW corner of the Plaza), just North of the San Fernando Cathedral.
The 12-story Municipal Plaza Building was built in 1922 to house the Frost National Bank. Original interior features included a bank lobby with a 3-story high space, an ornamental coffered plaster ceiling featuring floral medallions, a mezzanine wrapping around the 2nd story, stone arcades, and electrical fixtures by Tiffany.
The "Art Nouveau" building style extended to the outside décor as well... Today, this historical original O. B. McClintock clock mounted to the corner of the building is all that remains of the original outside fixtures.
The clock's 3 faces are of stained leaded glass, in original "O.B. McClintock exterior timepiece" motif: the center circle is made of 4 white glass panels encased by orange and green stained glass pieces which are themselves encased in a laced square cast aluminum frame. The numerals are in the unique McClintock stylized font. The clock's unique features are best seen at night, when its internal illumination truly brings out the overall "lighted stained glass" look & feel.
