Commemorative drinking fountain, erected to commemorate the marriage of the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII) on March 10th 1863 to Princess Alexandra of Denmark. Located at the High Street entrance to the St Davids church, Merthyr Tydfil.

"Raised white painted letters above niche containing fountain: JESUS SAID UNTO HER, WHOSOEVER DRINKETH OF THIS WATER / SHALL THIRST AGAIN: / BUT WHOSOEVER DRINKETH OF THE WATER / THAT I SHALL GIVE HIM, / SHALL NEVER THIRST. / JOHN, IV, 12" Text from Top of fountain.

The text on the lower half of the fountain reads:

"to commemorate the marriage of the Prince of Wales on March 10th 1863"
