Jefferson High School is a historic landmark in San Antonio. Many famous people have attended this high school and its architecture is worthy of preservation. The formal address of the school is: 723 Donaldson Ave., San Antonio, TX.

Although its main and highest dome by the main front entrance is also a designated benchmark, this entry is logging the "other" benchmark found on the west side of the school's building. AY0725 is an older benchmark stamped with L 963 and dated 1946. Access is easiest from the western parking lot along Wilson Blvd. The corner of the building where the vertically placed benchmark is mounted is among the brickwork near a small stairway close to a covered carport that extends from the school proper into the tarmac of the parking lot.

AT SAN ANTONIO, ABOUT 260.0 FEET EAST OF THE JUNCTION OF WILSON DRIVE AND MEREDITH DRIVE, AT THE THOMAS JEFFERSON HIGH SCHOOL, SET VERTICALLY IN THE WEST FACE OF THE CAFETERIA SECTION OF THE SCHOOL, A THE STEPS LEADING DOWN TO THE BICYCLE SHED, 1.0 FOOT SOUTH OF THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE BUILDING, 1.2 FOOT HIGHER THAN THE SIDEWALK.
