If bears could grin this one would be doing it, as he has just caught himself a big one for dinner. He's probably waving at his buddy, as if to say "Nyah Nyah - I got a bigger one than you did!".

This elated bear can be found at the northeast corner of Loon Lake, along Sunset Drive. We have no idea who turned this old pine tree into a bear, but whoever it was did quite a creditable job. Likely not the first bear they've created.

I would imagine that we weren't the only ones to screech to a halt for a longer look upon spying this bear. He is just to the west side of Sunset Drive, almost impossible to miss while driving by.

Loon Lake is a summer getaway lake, with many summer cottages lining the shore, intermingled with the odd year round house. There are so many cottages that there is precious little public access left on the lake. Loon Lake itself is a pretty small town with a minimum of facilities.
