Portland Street Market - Klamath Falls, OR - The Local Neighborhood Grocer on Waymarking.com

I have been patronizing the Portland Street Market since I was a child (almost 40 years). I even went to school with the children of the couple that owned this small store growing up and I spent many quarters in the video arcade games they used to have. I also spent a lot of change buying candy from their large selection of sugary treats. I remember buying candy bars/gum at a quarter apiece. Sigh.

Over the years, there have been a few different owners of this market and the past 10-12 years has seen a 'niche' in offering specialty beers and wine and this market has gotten a very good reputation in town for providing a great assortment of that hard-to-find beers and wine. I'm not a drinker, but there are often well-to-do folks that shop here specifically for a bottle of wine or beer and nothing else. The store offers a very small selection of produce, so the term 'grocery' store doesn't really apple to this place. They also opened a deli about seven years ago and make some decent soups, salads and sandwiches.

This neighborhood market doesn't appear to be slowing down and as long as they offer items that the retail stores can't, this place should stay busy for many more years. You can visit their Facebook page here
