[FR] Le 14 juin 1940, l'armée allemande entre dans Paris. Le lendemain, l'hôtel est occupé par l'Abwehr, le service de renseignement et de contre-espionnage de l'état-major allemand, qui y installe son quartier général. Le chef de la Geheime Feldpolizei s'y installe aussi. À la Libération, le propriétaire de l'hôtel doit, pour prouver son engagement envers la Résistance, mettre à sa disposition le Lutetia. L'hôtel accueille les déportés à leur retour des camps de concentration nazis.

[EN] When Paris was liberated in August 1944, the hotel was abandoned by German troops, and taken over by French and American forces. From then until after the end of the war, it was used as a repatriation center for prisoners of war, displaced persons, and returnees from the German concentration camps.
