This seems to be the sole playground in Northport, in the only municipal park in Northport. But then, Northport isn't that big.

Tucked in the northeast corner of the park, the playground and environs make a nice, quiet place for a picnic with the kids. It's a great place to just lie on the grass staring at the clouds while the kids whoop it up in the playground.

The park is on the corner of South Avenue and 7th Street, with the playground just a bit east on South (definitely NOT west on North). One may park on the side of South right at the playground. There are restrooms to the west in the park which are closed through the winter.

The rest of the park is open grass and is the site of the first school house in Northport, a two storey brick building, now gone, that was declared a National Historic Place in 1979.
