The hospital in Klingenmünster was involved in criminal activities of Nazi psychiatry. Studies show that more than 1700 patients died in Klingenmünster targeted by food deprivation, lack of help and probably by overdose of drugs. In addition, the institution was actively involved in the Nazi genetic health policy and the implementation of forced sterilization in the Palatinate.
The memorial was build in the year 2008.
