This station, located in Golden, Colorado, is situated atop Lookout Mountain, near Buffalo Bill Cody's grave. It is set in a rock outcrop to the immediate south of a circular walkway leading up to the grave-site.
It is approximately 30-ft SSW from the grave, about 7-ft SSW from the edge of the walkway pavement, about 1-ft SE from a fence post, and centered between two pine trees spaced about 15-ft apart. The mark is approximately level with the walkway, and positioned directly beneath the rails of a wooden fence, set horizontally, and stamped --G 28 1923 7375--.
The link below is the best I can offer regarding information to this station.
It is sheer irony that the coordinates that I posted (from my brother-in-law's cell phone) turned up on this page, spot on. It is safe to say that this mark was used for their report, and my brother-in-law's phone was amazingly accurate. Giving credit where it's due, my wife spotted this mark as we were leaving the site. We managed well with an old beat up camera, a cellphone, a pen, and scratch paper. An awesome find at an awesome historical site.
Unfortunately, this mark is not bluebooked with NGS, so it can't be logged in Geocaching. Visit it anyway!
