Brina Švigelj (alias Brina Svit) is born May 31, 1954 in Ljubljana. She is a Slovenian writer.
She studied French Philology and Comparative Literature at the University of Ljubljana, and she moved to Paris in 1980.
Her book entitled "Une nuit à Reykjavik" is the story of a woman who wants to spend a nignt with a man that she met in Buenos Aires. She chose to meet him in Iceland during winter to have a long night.
I chose the Solfar to represent Reykjavik because it is a spectacular sculpture located by Sæbraut, by the sea in the centre of Reykjavík. It is easy to find.
"Sun Voyager (Icelandic: Sólfar) is a sculpture by Jón Gunnar Árnason (1931 - 1989). Sun Voyager is a dreamboat, an ode to the sun. Intrinsically, it contains within itself the promise of undiscovered territory, a dream of hope, progress and freedom."
