Blue Sea Granite - Quebec, Canada - Rock-Hounding on Waymarking.com

I found this site during a search for a virtual cache located here : GC219F.

The quarry was in operation around 1910. It is now abandonned.

It is a granite, having a feldspath and quartz dominant composition. The quartz is melt among the blue-green feldspath (amazonite).

It gives the surrounding area a nice blue-turquoise color. There are still plenty of rocks there. The road leads you right to the spot.
