EN: The bronze statue of an Amazon with a horse is located at the southern head of "Mittlere Rheinbrücke". It was the last work of the sculptor Carl Burckhardt (1878-1923). The bronze casting was only made in 1926, after his death. The work was commissioned by the Basel Art Association and later gifted to the city.
DE: Die Bronzestatue einer Amazone mit Pferd befindet sich am südlichen Kopf der mittleren Rheinbrücke. Sie war das letzte Werk des Bildhauers Carl Burckhardt (1878-1923). Der Bronzeguss entstand erst 1926, nach seinem Tod. Das Werk war eine Auftragsarbeit des Basler Kunstvereins und wurde später der Stadt geschenkt.
