Bronze disk set in a concrete square. Park in the paved parking lot at the west end of Mitchell road at Fort Cronkhite. Measuring from the metal gate at the end of Mitchell Road, follow the coastal trail (paved) 1400 feet to a junction with a dirt path. Follow the dirt path 1700 feet until it intercepts the remains of a metal chain link fence. Follow the remains of the fence line north west until you reach a dirt trail following the ridge. Proceed north about 200 feet along the trail(somewhat steep) and you will be near the benchmark. Look for a rock outcrop between the mark and the ocean.
