The sculpture is a stylization of a part of the BC Hydro logo. The green represents the green forests; the blue represents the water and the hydro power while the white is a stylization of two cycles of a sine wave.
The large aluminum sculpture, approximately 12 feet tall, is mounted on the inside of a traffic circle at the south entrance to Hugh Keenleyside Dam from Arrow Lakes Drive.
Accompanying the sculpture is a plaque relating a tiny bit of the history of the dam.
This dam was the second of the three Columbia River Treaty projects to be completed. It was declared operational 10 October 1968 and was dedicated to the service of the people of British Columbia and to the mutual benefit of two great nations by the Honourable W. A. C. Bennett Prime Minister of British Columbia on 9 June 1969.
The Hugh Keenleyside Dam was completed in record time and without loss of life.
