In 1933, the Daughters of the American Revolution placed a piece of native limestone with a bronze plaque at the spot of the 100th meridian of the US. This spot was a historically significant place on the Transcontinental railroad, because it was a point sent by Congress with a deadline for the Union pacific Railroad to reach.

The plaque reads as follows:

"Placed by Cozad Chapter, D.A.R.,
Marking
The One Hundredth Meridian
1933"
