If you enjoy black, volcanic beach sand, mediocre facilities, and a chance to try out an Indonesian resort town, then Pangadaran is your spot. To arrive, bus or occasional plane. The bus station is located in the northern end of the town, next to the market. It is rather large in area, but with a small station, and an even smaller office.
Buses tend to disembark their passengers on the street outside the station, rather than inside. There is no ticketing at the station, that is done on the bus, or at a travel agent. The station is not the busiest. Most buses are local, with a few to the next big city, Banjar, an hour and a half away. A few times a week a big bus to Jakarta. Outside the station you will find bejaks (rickshaws) to convey you around town. Lots of food and drink in the market, and I am sure, toilets.
