The castle Wineck, also called Windeck, is the ruin of a small medieval castle.

According to archaeological findings, the castle was in the 13th Century built. The castle is first documented in 1338, mentioned as Hauß Windecken owned by the knight Johann Marsilius of Saarbrücken. [1] In 1517, Wolf Eckbrecht of Dürckheim received the castle with castle Schoeneck fief.

The castle was probably destroyed in 1680 along with Castle Schoeneck.

Since 30 December 1985 it stands as a monument historique a historical monument.
