Die 1929 eröffnete Station Hallerstraße ist der Teil der sogenannten KellJung Linie zwischen Kellinghusen und Jungfernstieg und gehört zur U1.
In der Nähe der Station befinden sich nicht nur Teile der Hamburger Universität und der Tennis-Court am Rotherbaum, auch die Mitarbeiter und Kunden der verschiedenen Medienfirmen (ZDF und NDR haben hier Studios in der Nähe ) nutrzen die nahe Haltestelle.
Der in Hamburg ansässige Künstler Jürgen Linden erschuf bei der Modernisierung der Station 1997 in der Mitte des Bahnsteigs eine Installation die an einen Tennisplatz erinnert. Zusätzlich befinden sich zwei Bilder von Tennisspielern an den Wänden und verstärken den Eindruck eines aktuellen Matches.
The 1929 opened station Hallerstraße is part of the so called KellJung-Line of the U1 between the stations Kellinghusenstraße and Jungfernstieg.
Close to the station are not only parts of the Hamburg University and the Tennis-Courts at Rotherbaum, but also several medial companies and broadcasting channels and studios like ZDF and NDR.
The artist Jürgen Linden created an installation in the center of the plattform during the process of modernization in 1997, that resembles a tennis court, with pictures of 2 players on each of the tunnel walls.
