From the US97 exit in Redmond, continue generally SE on SW Airport Way for about 0.2 mile. Turn right on SW 19th Street and continue S for 0.9 mile. Park and walk S for about 0.6 mile to the Third Standard Parallel. Turn right and walk W about 0.7 miles along a fence line. Turn left and follow the W leg of the Bonneville Power Administration transmission line right-of-way roughly S for about 1.7 miles. Turn left and proceed E through light brush for about 0.2 mile to the corner.

Type of survey mark: 3-1/4" brass cap on pipe in a mound of stones and earth; rising 6" What indicators are near the mark to help people identify where it is located?: There is length of lath from a recent survey and an orange Carsonite post with a SURVEY MARKER decal. Found four blazed and scribed western juniper bearing trees, each with a nail and brass washer. In addition, found a western juniper mentioned in the original 1880 survey. Also found, at the coordinates expected for T16S R13E S6 5 7 8 COR, a collar of stones with no sign of the brass cap on iron pipe set by Deschutes County Surveyors Office, W.C. Kauffman in 1995. A 13" western juniper with a nail and brass washer bears S50ºE, 110.6' distant. The corner is about 290' E of the transmission line right-of-way, and based on field measured GPS grid coordinates, this corner bears N1.5°W from the found cap, 5258' distant.
