The 1960 Humboldt County Courthouse at 825 Fifth Street in Eureka, California.
Humboldt County was created in 1853 from the western part of Trinity County. The county operated out of rental buildings until 1889 when a County Courthouse building was dedicated. In 1954, an earthquake severely damaged the 1889 courthouse building which was then torn down in 1956. The current Humboldt County Courthouse was dedicated in 1960. The building was designed by architect Mitchell Van Bourg and constructed by the Dinwiddie Construction Company. The flagpole in front of the building is from the old 1889 courthouse.
