This memorial plaque is found on a stone placed on the northeast corner of the grounds of the old Jackson County Courthouse. The marker describes the efforts of Everett Carl "Fergie" Ferguson in establishing the Jacksonville Museum within the old courthouse building. For many years, the museum was a way to make use of the building, which ceased to be the courthouse when the county seat of Jackson County was moved to Medford in the late 1920s. The text of the marker reads:
"THIS BUILDING IS DEDICATED TO E.C. FERGUSON ("FERGIE"), FOR MANY YEARS MANAGING EDITOR OF THE MEDFORD MAIL TRIBUNE, WHOSE UNTIRING EFFORTS, BOTH IN THE COLUMNS OF THE PAPER AND PERSONALLY IN CIVIC AND COUNTY ACTIVITIES, WAS, WITH OTHERS LIKE-MINDED, LARGELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE JACKSONVILLE MUSEUM." ERECTED 1957
