The Moshe Bayuk house was built 1899 for Moshe (Moses) Bayuk a founder of the Alliance Colony. The agricultural colony was founded Jewish immigrants from Russia. Moshe Bayuk lived in the house until his death in 1932. The house is one of the only extant buildings associated with the original colony. The two-story brick masonry structure was last occupied in 1962. It has received only sporadic maintenance since that time and is in poor condition. The current owners, Jewish Federation of Cumberland County, hope to restore the house and convert it to a heritage center.
