Deze Starfighter is mooi vanaf de A28 te zien, aan de oostkant ter hoogte van Soesterberg. Het is het visitekaartje van het Militair Luchtvaart Museum. De toegang is gratis.
De Starfighter was overigens niet gestationeerd op Soesterberg, maar kwam wel regelmatig op bezoek. Op de romp staat het nummer D-8245. De 8000-serie (95 stuks geleverd aan de KLU) is in licentie gemaakt door Fokker. De Starfighter was het eerste gevechtstoestel dat de snelheid Mach2 kon bereiken.
This Starfighter is displayed on the east side of the motorway A28, near yhe former airforce base of Soesterberg.
It is the eyecatcher of the Military Aviation Museum. Free Admission!
The Starfighter was, moreover, not stationed at Soesterberg, but did visit the base often. It is identified by D-8245.
The 8000 series (95 pieces delivered to the Dutch Airsforce) was made under license by Fokker. The Starfighter was the first combat unit which could reach Mach2.
