In the background of this very small Roman Catholic church you'll find an old countryhouse named "de Rietstap".
About 1900 this countryhouse was owned by G.H.A.N. Rietstap from the Hague. The house is situated in the very most eastern part of the Netherlands, almost on the German border.
When mister Rietstap died, his nephew became the new owner of the countryhouse. In his will mr. Rietstap claimed his nephew to built a Roman Catholic church. The smaller the church the cheaper to built.
The result was this church. Measurements of the church are 4.5 x 6.4 metres. On the photos, the man is 1.80 metres tall. Originally the church was built in the garden of the house in 1912.
In 1984 due to urban sprawl the church was rebuilt at this spot.
Nowadays the church is an art gallery.
Type of documentation of superlative status: There is a sign on the building
Location of coordinates: Meniststraat 12, Dinxperlo
