The bus has been handpainted with bright red strawberries and is placed in a roadside paddock to catch the eye of passing traffic. It is certainly tempting people to stop and buy some summer berries, there are seats provided and a shady awning. Nothing says "Summer" in New Zealand like bright red Strawberries specially at Christmastime.....and that's Summer down this end of the world!!
This artwork bus is situated beside SH3 between Awakino Service Station and the Awakino Gorge. Look out for it, up the driveway beside the Strawberry letterbox!
