This sculpture is called "Erinnerung an die Zeit (Memory of Time)". It was created by Bernard Nellen in 2008 and erected in the park next to Stockalper Castle in the center of Brig.
The sculpture is made of old books, pressed and pierced on three bars that are mounted horizontally between two poles. This centerpiece is escorted by two steel figures. (Guards? Birds?).
The artists comment to the sculpture on his web site: "You know that the books can not be read anymore. These were your stories and your knowledge, nobody is interested in them now."
