There are numerous such silos throughout the district. Some are well maintained, some aren't & some have been converted into accommodation.
One of my neighbours who lived to be 88 built these silos, along with his father, in the 1930's. They were designed to hold corn which was the principal feed for dairy cattle at that time. This one is on an acreage & can be photographed by parking on the grass verge beside the road. The country in the vicinity was, until the last 10 years or so, farmland but is now urban.
I took three photographs to give perspective, two from Meroo Road & one from Appleberry Close, which is about 110 degrees to Meroo Road.
