There is a posted detail map for folks who miss the tours (not after 4 p.m.) or are in a hurry. This Victorian building was renovated after 100 years and awarded the Victorian Society Award for preservation in 2007.

The California State Parks have experienced much budget tightening.
Many of the sites are available only because of retired volunteer docents and other interest citizens.
It was much bigger than the "Governor's Mansion" (19,00 sq. ft.)
It is now surrounded by high rise office buildings.
