This helipad, placed for use by the Army Corps of Engineers, is located at the western end of the San Antonio Flood Control Dam in the foothills above the San Gabriel Valley.

This is a crudely constructed pad comprised of a rough asphalt surface that has been partially covered by material eroded from the surrounding bare ground. It is most likely used as an observation point to monitor the dam and its containment of excess water during periods when the dam prevents flooding of the densely populated region below it.
