Anchors are part of the life and lore of Fleetwood, so it seems natural to have this black anchor on display in a grassy area of the Esplanade in Fleetwood. Nearby are memorials to the fishermen who lost their lives at sea, the Fleetwood Lifeboat Station and the Euston Hotel.
There is no identification on the anchor and no sign or plaque.
