The depot is located at 304-306 W. Main Street. It is difficult to spot because it sits about 125 feet off the street, between two commercial buildings. However, the building's profile is familiar to those who have seen old depots, and there is a railway-style sign reading CLAYTON on the south end of the structure.
The depot is not at its original location. My estimate is that it once stood at N35 39.250, W078 27.570, or a few blocks to the southeast. I determined this by searching for benchmarks near the present coordinates. From the description of EZ0006, I learned that the station was a little northwest of the crossing at Fayetteville Street. Meanwhile, the description for Rivet EZ0008 suggests that the structure was moved prior to March, 1960. Benchmark EZ0005 gives an additional geographic reference which produces an approximate distance of 0.1 mile southeast of Railway Milepost 96. Conclusion: It appears that the station was relocated many years ago, but it was not moved very far.
