The village once had a dependent Chanonat Benedictine priory of the abbey of Port-Dieu, mentioned for the first time in 1264. It consisted of fortified buildings and the present church. This church is representative of transformations that may undergo the small buildings over the centuries, without alteration of their authenticity.
The building is originally Romanesque. The south side has undergone numerous additions (a stairwell from the 17th or 18th century, chapels of the 15th and 17th or 18th centuries).
