In 1950-1955, O.K. Mattress was located here. Lloyd V. Mckinney of 625 East Portland was the owner. He lived at 1930 West Lee Street. Locke Metal Casket Manufacturing was at 504 West in 1965. Hubert S. Locke of 1209 Stewart Avenue owned the business. It was home to AAA Furniture Dealers in 1970. Owner Willis Talbot lived at 1207 South Airwood Drive. McCurdy's started a pinball distribution operation in the garage of their home in 1966. From 1975-2005, the business here was under slightly different names, but all kept the McCurdy name. From 1980-2005, it was called the McCurdy Amusement Company, Inc. under President Drew Harris of 504 West Commercial in 1995-2005; Laura R. McCurdy of 3225 Kimbrough Avenue in 1990; Ruth McCurdy of 504 West Commercial in 1985; and Patrick and Mrs. Ruth McCurdy of 841 Ferguson Avenue in 1975-1980. In earlier years, McCurdy Music Company was probably a coin machine sales service, probably juke boxes. Later, it focused more on pinball machines. Owner and proprietor, Drew Harris is the grandson of the original owners of the business occupying this building.
