"A great beach to try is the DuBois Beach in Stonington, CT. You will enjoy the rocky shoreline of this beach. The water is pretty shallow, so you can plan to swim about and also if younger people are with you or inexperienced swimmers, this will also be a good beach for them. There are lifeguards at this beach, too, so you will feel very safe swimming there. Bring all the beach gear that you love to use because you will enjoy all kinds of activities on this beach. Make sure that you take a picnic with you to this beach. Include all your supplies because there is not a concession stand at this beach, so you won't be able to buy food when you are there. After you have your picnic, you will want to take a walk along the rocky shore. It is a good idea to have water shoes with you when you are exploring all the rocky shoreline. That way your feet won't hurt and you won't slip. After exploring you can always take them off to enjoy walking in the sand again. You will enjoy the scenery, so plan to have a camera with you and get some great shots of the beautiful harbor. You will also want to have your binoculars so that you can get a view of things up closer, too.

There is a fee to get on the DuBois Beach and you can get the latest information by calling the Stonington Community Center at 860-535-2476. They will be able to tell you how much you will need to access the beach area. The DuBois Beach is located on Water Street and you will find a decent sized parking lot. However, this is a fun and popular beach and many people love to visit it, so you should plan on getting there early or later in the afternoon. Remember in the late afternoon people are deciding to leave for dinner and you will not only get a good parking spot but you will also get a great place on the sand. Make your plans before you leave and then get ready to hit the traffic on the way down to the beach, too. Once you are there, you will just love it. Residents of the area and visitors, alike enjoy visiting the DuBois Beach. It is a wonderful one to spend the day at and you will relax and enjoy yourself. Make the very most of the time that you spend on the beach." SOURCE
