Die Ersterwähnung Mandelns erfolgte (laut dem Lorscher Codex, Bayerisches Hauptstaatsarchiv, HL Mainz 19, folg. 210 v.) am 13. Juli 800. Ein Grundherr Lager und seine Ehefrau Duda schenken dem Nazariuskloster in Lorsch (bei Heppenheim) unter seinem Abt Richbodo drei Mansen, ebenso viele Hufen und fünf Hörige in Mauventelina (Mandeln) im Perfgau, dessen politischer und kirchlicher Mittelpunkt Breidenbach war. Damit ist Dorf Mandeln das vermutlich älteste Dorf im ehemaligen Dillkreis. Quelle: Wikipedia ( visit link)
