This white cement obelisk is about 20 feet tall. It has a plaque that reads:
"EL PUEBLO Y LA SOCIEDAD
DE INVESTIGACIONES
HISTORICAS DE TECATE A.C.
ELEVAN SU GRATITUD
A LOS NATIVOS FUDADORES
VOCES DE NUESTRA RAZA
Y LUCES DE NUESTRO ORIGEN"
which basically indicates that the Tecate Historical Society and the town of Tecate raised this obelisk to thank and honor the founding natives and their voices.
