Founded 1823 by Jas. A. Fox. Oldest Episcopal structure (1824) in the state & reputedly W. of Alleghenies. Organ installed 1827. Here in 1829 first Episcopal priest ordained in state. John P. Porter. Mother of Jefferson Davis a member.
