This fountain and the sculpture are the centerpiece of this plaza. A wide grassy meadow overlooks the Pacific Ocean. The Mentors sculpture won the "Santa Barbara Beautiful Award" for the most beautiful work of public art.

Around the fountain is a circular seating area. A plaque on the fountain seating area reads:

"Mentors"
