This bench mark was used during the First primary levelling, England & Wales,(1840-60), and was levelled with a height of 238.6820 feet [72.7503 metres] above mean sea level (Liverpool datum). It was included on the Basingstoke to Coventry levelling line. The surveyor's description was No. 206. Bolt in N. face of S. pier of St. Mary's Church tower, Warwick ; 2.57 ft. above surface.
