The bronze statue features Danny Wuerffel in full football regalia with the #7 on his jersey. He is in motion getting ready to pass a football that is in his right hand, with his left hand just releasing from the ball as he readies to make a pass. The statue rests on a granite base. The statue is one of three larger-than-life statues of the University of Florida's Heisman Trophy winners. They are located side-by-side outside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium and were installed in 2011.

"Daniel Carl Wuerffel (born May 27, 1974) is a former American college and professional football quarterback who won the 1996 Heisman Trophy and the 1996 national football championship while playing college football for the University of Florida. After graduating from Florida, he played for four National Football League (NFL) teams, and retired from professional football in 2002. Since then, Wuerffel has led a non-profit organization engaged in Christian mission and charitable work in Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Louisiana. In 2013, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame."
