The memorial was purchased by Patten Monument Company. The cost of the memorial is $8,100, according to Ken Locke, 9/11 memorial committee member.
Funds were raised for the memorial during an October 17, 2009 motorcycle ride when more than $1,500 was raised for the memorial. Funds also were collected throughout the community by the Kosciusko County 9/11 committee.
The memorial was placed October 20, 2009 and dedicated on November 1, 2009.
