This stone memorial is dedicated to the pioneers of the area. The bronze plaque reads:
Erected as a memorial to the virtues of the men, women and children who pioneered in this section of the county.
The Northern Pacific, Fergus and Black Hills R.R., now the Northern Pacific Railway, reached Henning October 25, 1881.
This monument was erected by the village of Henning and dedicated by the Otter Tail County Historical Society on June 29, 1941.
The monument stands in a quiet city park and along Henning's main street.
