USGS '29 DRS' BM - Klamath County, OR - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

I recovered this U.S. Geological Survey benchmark from 1957 in good condition. It is monumented on top of an obelisk-shaped concrete post, about 15 feet north of Oregon Pines Road and north of a T-junction from Fuego Fire Rd heading south. The disk contains the designation stamping of '29 DRS' and the elevation stamping of '4608' as well as the year '1957'. This benchmark is listed on a topography map as 'BM 4608' but is not listed in the NGS database.

To reach this benchmark from the town of Beatty, proceed north on Godowa Springs Rd for three miles, then turn left onto Drews Rd for 2/3 mile, then turn north onto Oregon Pines Rd (dirt road). Proceed north on this road to station on the right.
