This truss bridge, devoted exclusively to railroad traffic, has a center section that at one time lifted to accommodate boat traffic on the San Joaquin River.

The bridge appears to no longer be in operation. The channel just above the bridge appears impassable to anything except small pleasure craft. At one time the bridge had three sets of tracks crossing it but only one set remains. This trackage evidently gets frequent use because the top surface is free of rust
