John Frissell House was built circa 1835 and is one of the oldest extant buildings in Wheeling. The house was purchased by Dr. John Frissell in the 1850s and remained in the Frissell family for nearly 100 years. Dr. Frissell was a noted and respected surgeon in Wheeling. He had his office in the house along with his residence.

The two story brick house is in Greek Revival style and is mostly without ornamentation except the metal handrail leading to its entrance and the cornice work.

The house appears to be in very good condition and is used offices.
