The City Bank Building now known as the Professional Building was completed in 1891. The six-story granite and brick building is 125 feet tall and at its time of construction was tallest building in West Virginia. The Victorian building has Romanesque styling with heavy stone arch entryway and window opens and a turreted tower in the corner. The building was designed by the architectural firm Franzheim, Giesey, and Faris, a firm which designed several building during this era in Wheeling.
The building appears to be in good condition but in need of renovation and restoration.
